About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Executive Coach who is a native Japanese speaker with a strong proficiency in English to join our global leadership development team. As an integral part of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for guiding and developing high-performing executives in achieving their potential, maximizing team dynamics, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  1. One-on-One Coaching: Conduct personalized coaching sessions with executives, helping them to recognize areas of strength and areas of development. Utilize structured feedback to ensure actionable steps toward professional growth.
  2. Leadership Development: Facilitate workshops and training programs tailored to the Japanese business culture, ensuring they meet both individual and organizational needs.
  3. Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Leverage your proficiency in both Japanese and English to bridge any language or cultural barriers within our multinational team. Act as a point of contact and cultural mediator when necessary.
  4. Continuous Learning: Remain updated on the latest leadership theories, coaching methodologies, and best practices. Also, stay informed about the evolving business landscapes in both Japan and the global market.
  5. Feedback and Reporting: Provide regular updates and progress reports to HR and top management. Offer insights into the effectiveness of current leadership practices and suggest improvements.
  6. Program Design: Collaborate with the leadership development team to design, refine, and implement coaching programs that cater specifically to the Japanese market while aligning with global strategies.

What we expect from you

  1. Native Fluency in Japanese: Your cultural understanding and linguistic proficiency should be impeccable, ensuring that our Japanese-speaking executives feel fully understood and supported.
  2. Working Knowledge of English: Given the multinational nature of our business, you should be comfortable conducting sessions, reading, and writing in English, as well as liaising with our international team.
  3. Proven Experience: At least 5 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership development, or a related field, preferably within a multinational corporation.
  4. Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field. Certifications in coaching or leadership development would be a distinct advantage.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional listening, communication, and rapport-building skills. You should be empathetic, patient, and capable of challenging executives in a constructive manner.
  6. Integrity and Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics, ensuring that sensitive information discussed during coaching sessions remains confidential.
  7. Adaptability: A willingness to adjust coaching techniques based on individual needs and an understanding of the dynamic business landscape.
  8. Cultural Sensitivity: An understanding of both Japanese and Western business cultures, and the ability to navigate the intricacies of both.
