About the role
We are in search of a Japanese native speaking Agile Coach with a strong proficiency in English to become a pivotal member of our consulting team. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to guide our clients through agile transformations, providing both the cultural and technical expertise required to ensure success. This is a role that demands deep understanding of Agile methodologies coupled with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Agile Transformation: Guide organizations through the agile transformation journey, helping them transition from traditional methodologies to agile practices seamlessly.
- Training and Workshops: Deliver tailored training sessions and workshops in both Japanese and English, educating teams on Agile principles, practices, roles, and tools.
- Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Utilize your proficiency in both Japanese and English to bridge communication gaps, ensuring that all team members, irrespective of their linguistic background, are aligned and collaborative.
- Continuous Assessment: Regularly evaluate teams’ Agile maturity, providing feedback and recommending process adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with client leadership and stakeholders to ensure understanding, buy-in, and ongoing support for Agile initiatives.
- Tool Implementation: Advise on and help implement Agile tools that cater to the unique needs of individual teams and projects.
- Agile Mentoring: Offer ongoing mentorship to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other Agile roles, ensuring they grow in their respective roles and contribute effectively to the transformation journey.
What we expect from you
- Native Fluency in Japanese: Deep cultural understanding and linguistic proficiency are essential for this role. This ensures that our Japanese clientele and their teams are efficiently catered to and feel fully supported.
- Working Knowledge of English: Ability to conduct consultations, internal discussions and planning and some client communications in English.
- Solid Agile Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, preferably as an Agile Coach or Scrum Master. Experience in large-scale Agile transformations is a plus.
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field. Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist) are highly desirable.
- Strong Facilitation Skills: Ability to conduct effective workshops, retrospectives, and training sessions, ensuring active participation and tangible outcomes.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent listening, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. The capacity to build trust and foster a collaborative environment is essential.
- Adaptable: Agile is about adapting to change. You should be flexible, ready to pivot when needed, and always looking for ways to improve.
- Cultural Sensitivity: A deep understanding of both Japanese and Western business practices and the finesse to navigate and merge the intricacies of both.
